You can do this hike on your own, which is beautiful. Playa Tortuga is completely uninhabited, by humans.

Just follow the trail beside Palapa Manglar and then along the lagoon and through the woods. It will open up at Playa Tortuga.

But, the more fun way to do it is to hire a local guide who can tell you all about the flora and fauna that you see along the way. This is a fun way to learn what you can eat (and what you shouldn’t!) and also the many medicinal properties of our local plants.
